Save The Brickyard

About Us

Who we are

We are a team of local residents concerned about the impact on the residential amenity and road network, should Havering Council validate and approve a change of use application at the old Brickyard site, also known locally as the Page Calnan building.

We completely agree that the Havering Islamic Centre deserve a new larger home, but this isn't a good choice of site, and will cause more problems, than the benefits it creates.

As local residents, we demand the right to consultation, and the right to say no to this massive place of worship.

This website isn't about racism or Islamophobia, this is a about planning, and the built environment in Romford, and our right to help shape it.

This website will grow as the planning application is validated and published.

Campaign Update 08/04/25

Still No Application Submission

At the time of writing, no application has been yet submitted, and we'll continue to check the planning portal daily.

We have been made aware of  a fundraiser by Gavin Boby , a lawyer based in Bristol, who has raised £1600 to fight this application. We'd like to make it clear that Mr Boby has no links to our campaign, and to the best of our knowledge has no connection or links to Romford.

This is a local issue that needs to be fought by Havering residents.
